When It's Raining

from $30.00

When It's Raining is a pen & ink with watercolor illustration I created at Kopplin's Coffee when they were still in their first location on Hamline and Randolf in St. Paul. I had just received some free samples of Daniel Smith watercolors at Wet Paint (my favorite art supply store), and so I started to draw with pen and ink and proceeded to paint this illustration. I had no plan when I started, so the written caption was my best explanation for why this girl was running through the rain with carrots.

This is a signed archival print on your choice of paper. The art is printed on a 12 x 16 sheet with white borders so that the artwork fits comfortably in a standard 8 x 10 matte opening within a standard frame, to make framing simple. This is a perfect print to add some color and a little childhood whimsy to your wall!

Paper Choices:

If you plan to mat and frame this print, the paper choice makes very little difference in the appearance of the print itself because the artwork covers the paper up, and the mat covers the blank paper. The Hahnemühle paper is thicker, warmer, and longer lasting, in that it should last for many generations, but either paper will provide you with a beautiful print that should last a lifetime. For that reason, I recommend the Standard Matte paper. Though it is a thinner paper, once in a mat and frame you would be unlikely to notice any difference.
